Due to the precautions surrounding the Covid-19 (coronavirus) outbreak we are moving the upcoming support group meeting to an online forum. 

If you were planning to attend in person, you will now log-in from a computer or call-in from a phone to participate. 

Our featured guest for this meeting is Dr. Olwen Murphy, MB BCH MR. Dr. Murphy was a James T. Lubin Fellow at The Johns Hopkins Transverse Myelitis Center (JHTMC) in Baltimore, MD, under the mentorship of Dr. Carlos Pardo-Villamizar. Her research was on predicting outcomes after a diagnosis of transverse myelitis using current imaging techniques and spinal fluid analysis. The goal of the research project was to identify patterns or biomarkers that can be used in day-to-day clinical practice to identify benefits from therapies and help make better decisions about care.

Here are the details for the online support group meeting that will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 21. 

First, make sure your computer or phone is compatible with GoToMeeting. There is a link included in the login information at the end of this email to test your system.

Also, please make sure you mute yourself when you are not speaking. The presenter is able to mute and unmute attendees, but it is easier if we all work together to ensure there is no background noise. Along those same lines, we recommend using headphones if possible. It helps eliminate feedback and makes it easier for attendees to hear more clearly.

GoToMeeting allows for video and audio options. You are welcome to join via your computer and webcam device or you can simply call in via phone. There is no requirement to turn on your camera if you do not want to. If you do attend by phone, you will need to enter the Access Code provided in the login information at the end of this email.

We will start on time as to respect Dr. Murphy’s schedule. She has graciously agreed to spend part of her Saturday with us, so let’s be mindful of that.
