Messages of Gratitude From the SRNA Team

Today, we want to take a moment to thank YOU for making 2023 another wonderful year and for making SRNA a part of your life. We’ve made so many wonderful memories and we’ve loved getting to connect with everyone through our many events, programs, and support group meetings.

“When Pauline and I first got involved in doing this work, we knew that research needed to be done, but there were no physicians studying the rare neuroimmune disorders. Today, I am grateful that this research is being done by brilliant clinician scientists. There were no physicians specializing in our rare neuroimmune disorders. Today, I am grateful for all of the wonderful clinicians who are providing exceptional care to the children and adults in our community. I am deeply grateful for the SRNA staff who work tirelessly every day to offer our community the support and education it so desperately needs. Having become a professional organization means that the Siegel Rare Neuroimmune Association has a future. As we enter our 30th year, I am most grateful that we are able to be there for those of you who have had one of these rare diagnoses and for those who are going to be diagnosed with one of these disorders tomorrow. I hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving and that you and your family have much for which to be thankful.”

Sandy Siegel, SRNA President

“I’m so grateful for the children, families, the individuals, the support partners, the medical professionals, and community partners that make up our volunteer and SRNA community. So many of us never imagined we’d be in a position to advocate for those with a rare disorder diagnosis but the company I’ve found myself in has become family. Thank you for sharing your time, expertise, and hearts!”

Rebecca Whitney, Associate Director, Programs and Community Support

“The SRNA community is made up of an amazing collective of individuals, and I feel honored to have had the chance to meet so many people this year at Walk-Run-N-Roll events, support group meetings, through the peer connect program, at the RNDS, and through other events and programs. I’m grateful to volunteers who give their time to bring people together and offer a safe space to connect, and I am always amazed at the ways that this community supports each other after experiencing a life changing diagnosis. We always like to say that we are all stronger together, and I’m thankful to know so many people who are living it out together every day.”

Lydia Dubose, Community Engagement Manager

“SRNA would not be where it is today without the support, time, and dedication of our volunteers. Thank you to every medical professional who joined for a podcast, support group leader who led a meeting, walk-run-and-roll organizer who hosted an event, and every other person who helped this year!”

Krissy Dilger, Research and Program Manager

As we gather into the holiday season, I’m truly thankful for our wonderful community and  partners for a fantastic year of collaboration, mutual support, and togetherness. The 2023 RNDS is always a fantastic testament to this journey we share together.  Thank you for making a difference and spreading hope. Happy Thanksgiving!”

Roberta Pesce, Creative Director/Research and Project Manager

“I am grateful for this powerful community of love and support. The connections between partners, volunteers, medical professionals, members, donors, and staff are precious.”

Angela Simpelo, Administrative and Creative Assistant

Thank you so much to the entire SRNA community for your support! I am constantly in awe of our amazing community. Thank you for trusting us with answering your questions, and providing support, education, and resources. While being diagnosed with a rare neuroimmune disorder at times comes with challenges, I am so grateful for the wonderful community my diagnosis of TM led me to.”

GG deFiebre, Director of Research and Programs

“I feel so lucky to work everyday with the people and volunteers that I do. They’ve taught me so much about inclusion, disability, advocacy, family and community. They continue to show me that ‘Stronger Together’ isn’t just a phrase, it’s the essence of who they are. I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished together this year. Thank you all so much!”

Skye Corken, Communication and Engagement Coordinator

“My heartfelt gratitude to our staff, volunteers and partners for helping us raise awareness for rare neuroimmune disorders. Your hard work, compassion and commitment to our community makes us stronger together.”

Chitra Krishnan, Executive Director

We are so blessed to be part of such a wonderful and caring community. We hope you can take this time to connect with your family members and friends during this season of thanks. Once again, thank you for making SRNA a part of your life. We are #StrongerTogether.

Please join us on Tuesday, November 28, in giving back, spreading kindness, and showing how together we can be a force for good for Giving Tuesday. This year, we are looking for 300 supporters across all fundraisers and donations to join our cause. 100% of the proceeds will go towards SRNA’s research programs.
