New Video Series Explores New Realm in Treating MOGAD

By George Huhta

SRNA and NeurologyLive recently launched an informative new Roundtable Discussion series titled “Entering a New Realm of Treating MOGAD: Insights on Improvements in Diagnosis, Therapeutics, and Emerging Research.”

This six-part video series, moderated by Marco Meglio, editor of NeurologyLive, features Benjamin Greenberg, MD, and Jeffrey Bennett, MD, PhD, who discuss the complexities of diagnosing and treating MOG antibody-associated disease (MOGAD).

Bennett, a professor of neurology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and Greenberg, a pediatric neurologist at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, share their expert perspectives on the considerations in MOGAD diagnosis and detail the continued fluidity in autoimmune disorder diagnosis, acute treatment, and long-term management. They also assess ongoing research efforts and drug developments aimed at addressing unmet needs in managing this challenging condition.

The Roundtable Discussions cover the following topics:

  • Episode 1: Navigating MOGAD Diagnosis: Clinical Insights and Key Considerations
  • Episode 2: Continuing Evolution of MOGAD Diagnosis, Remaining Questions in Antibody Titer Testing
  • Episode 3: Understanding the Treatments and Tools for MOGAD Management
  • Episode 4: Evaluating the Treatment Pipeline for MOGAD
  • Episode 5: Unmet Needs and Challenges Across Pediatric and Adult MOGAD Populations
  • Episode 6: Advancing MOGAD Research: Predictive Markers, Immune Remodeling, and Future Therapies

In the episode focused on the evolving diagnostic process, Bennett observes, “Our diagnostic criteria are very fluid, and they’re gaining more specificity and sensitivity as we understand these disorders more.” Looking to the future in another episode, Greenberg says, “Over the next 10 years… we’ll see a plethora of studies where we’re trying to get a better understanding of this fascinating aspect of anti-MOG associate disorder where some patients zero revert, and others do not.”
