Welcoming 5 New Centers of Excellence in Rare Neuroimmune Disorders
The Siegel Rare Neuroimmune Association is thrilled to announce the addition of 5 new Centers of Excellence in Rare Neuroimmune Disorders (CERNDs). Through this designation, SRNA recognizes medical institutions that provide exceptional, comprehensive care to patients with rare neuroimmune disorders. CERNDs focus on providing clinical care, advancing research to better understand these disorders, and developing more effective acute therapies and symptom management strategies.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital
We are excited to include this pediatric-specific center, led by Dr. Kelsey Poisson, to our network of CERNDs. Dr. Poisson remarked, “Our team’s priority is to provide multidisciplinary, comprehensive neuroimmunology care which includes patient and family education and support. We are hopeful for ongoing collaborations to provide the best care and support to our patient population.”

University of California San Diego
We are delighted to announce that SRNA has recognized the University of California San Diego as a CERND!

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
Under the direction of Dr. Paula Barreras, Cedars-Sinai provides comprehensive care to patients diagnosed with ADEM, AFM, MOGAD, NMOSD, ON, and TM. Dr. Barreras commented: “Being recognized as a center of Excellence will help patients find our center, open avenues to participate in events supporting the SRNA community, create spaces to spread awareness about rare neuroimmunological disorders and open fellowship opportunities at our center to train the next generation of neurologists in rare neuroimmunological disease.”
