Dr. Karin Boode will discuss nutrition and weight loss for those with rare neuroimmune disorders at the next meeting of our Northwest Chicago Support Group. The meeting takes place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 23rd at the Eastgate Branch of the Algonquin Public Library.
The meeting is free and open to those transverse myelitis (TM), acute flaccid myelitis (AFM), neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), optic neuritis (ON), acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), and MOG Antibody-associated disease (MOGAD); their families and friends.
Dr. Boode, holds a Ph.D. in food science. She is with Healthy Habits Key to Wellness, Algonquin, a practice that integrates general medicine with medically managed weight loss and carefully prescribed exercise programs. Her focus is on medically managed weight loss. The program teaches how to lose weight without going hungry, counting points or calories, giving up favorite foods, cutting out entire food groups and or buying special foods and/or supplements.
