PROGRAM ASSOCIATE
The Siegel Rare Neuroimmune Association is seeking to hire a full-time Program Associate.
The Siegel Rare Neuroimmune Association (SRNA) is a non-profit that advocates and supports through education, networking, and research those affected by the following family of diseases: transverse myelitis (TM) including acute flaccid myelitis (AFM), neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), optic neuritis (ON) and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM). Its stakeholders include patients and their families/friends, clinicians, scientists, medical professionals, supporters and related interested organizations. Our goal is to improve the quality of life of individuals and families living with these rare neuroimmune disorders.
Key Responsibilities
SRNA is an information resource on rare neuroimmune disorders for our community through our website, newsletters, blogs, Ask The Expert Podcast Series, educational events such as camp, symposia and workshops for the exchange of current and up-to-date information regarding the diagnosis, treatment and management of these disorders. We offer a support network between persons with these disorders through local support groups located throughout the world and through our partnership with Smart Patients, while also organizing annual quality of life programs such as family camps for children with these disorders and their families. We support the post-residency training of clinicians committed to careers in academic medicine specializing in these disorders, provide grant support to academic Centers of Excellence and fund novel pilot research ideas.
The Program Associate will be vital in providing day-to-day support for these programs, and will contribute meaningfully to the delivery of our mission.
- Assist with the education programs (SRNA blogs, website, podcasts, and other digital education programs)
- Assist with writing, design and coordination of digital and print publications
- Assist with the implementation of research studies
- Communicate with and support community queries via phone, email and social media
- Draft surveys, reports, materials, and documents as needed
- Maintain an updated CRM database
- Provide administrative support to SRNA staff and Executive Committee
- Organize meetings, webinars, and phone calls for all programs and projects
- Manage phone, email and letter correspondence, as needed
- Coordinate spreadsheets, tracking tools, and project management systems
- Conduct online research and translate findings into clear documents
- Assist with record keeping and management of donations processing and acknowledgment process
- Assist with coordination of awareness events, including managing fundraising platforms
- Assist with proof-reading print and online publications
- Assist with annual state registrations
- Coordinate and manage the documentation of invoices and reimbursements
- Assist with social media (including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, Google Communities, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, Pinterest)
- Other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Background and experience in health and providing programmatic assistance preferred
- Meticulous attention to accuracy and detail, the ability to multi‐task, prioritize and meet deadlines, and thrive in a small, dynamic organization with an ambitious agenda
- Must be self-disciplined, driven, creative, proactive, able to demonstrate initiative, able to maintain confidentiality, persistent, and personable
- Ability to work well within a team environment that largely exists virtually
- Ability to maintain high standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism, including dealing with sensitive and proprietary patient information
- Good writing, communication, and editing skills
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Computer literacy: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and demonstrated efficiency with CRM management databases, and content management systems like WordPress to make simple updates to website
- Familiarity with online survey, scheduling, and collaboration platforms, such as SurveyMonkey, Doodle, and Google Docs
- Comfortable with social sharing and blogging tools

Compensation: Full-time, commensurate with experience; retirement benefits offered.
Deadline: Applications will be processed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Start Date: Immediately
Compensation: 42-50k
