Nationwide Children’s Hospital Multidisciplinary Pediatric Neuroimmunology Clinic
In August 2019, Nationwide Children’s Hospital launched a multidisciplinary pediatric Neuroimmunology Clinic, led by Dr. Melissa Hutchinson.
The clinic seeks to serve pediatric patients with a variety of neuroimmune conditions, including but not limited to optic neuritis, transverse myelitis, acute flaccid myelitis, multiple sclerosis, MOG antibody disease, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, and autoimmune encephalitis. The clinic is staffed by multiple disciplines, including Neurology, Pediatric Psychology, Neuropsychology, Psychiatry, Pharmacy, and Rheumatology. During their clinic visit, families and patients are seen by the different disciplines as needed. Through this multidisciplinary model, they offer comprehensive medical management and psychological, educational, and neurocognitive support. Families can schedule an appointment for a child with a new diagnosis, request a second opinion, or to establish ongoing care. Nationwide Children’s is located in Columbus, Ohio, and is one of the largest children’s hospitals in the United States. They are home to a rich mixture of excellent clinical and research supports for patients and their families. Their clinic staff is passionate about helping create positive outcomes for their patients.
The clinic is also doing telehealth appointments and is accepting new patients via telehealth, but this is dependent upon the state in which a patient resides. If you are interested in having your child seen as a patient at Nationwide, you can find some of the clinicians listed in our Medical Professional Network.
