Ask the Expert: Research Edition Podcast

SRNA has several podcast series to help patients and their families learn about the rare neuroimmune disorders. Our Ask the Expert series allows healthcare providers to answer questions about various topics, from diagnosis to symptom management, and more. We also have a “Research Edition” of the podcast, in which medical professionals can share about the research they are conducting or have recently published. The most recent episode of the Ask the Expert: Research Edition podcast featured Drs. Cynthia Wang and Linda Nguyen. The experts discussed their recent publication, “Increased Intracranial Pressure in Pediatric Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibody–Associated Disease.” They talked about MOG antibody disease and the significance of MOG antibodies in diagnosis. Dr. Nguyen highlighted the background of the study and how this research focused on determining the impact of elevated intracranial pressure on patient outcomes. She reviewed the implications of the findings for patient management, emphasizing the importance of early recognition and intervention to mitigate disability. Dr. Wang and Dr. Nguyen anticipated future studies and stressed the collaborative effort required for better patient outcomes and the need for ongoing research in this field.
