Due to the precautions surrounding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak we are moving all upcoming support group meetings to an online forum.
On Saturday, May 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (CDT), we will host a virtual support group meeting using Zoom. This is an opportunity for our community to come together in these difficult times to offer support and fellowship.
Our featured guest for this meeting is Dr. Kyle Blackburn from the UT Southwestern Medical Center.
If you have questions for Dr. Blackburn, please send them to Jeremy Bennett at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are planning to attend, please RSVP below to receive the login information. We are capping each meeting at a maximum of 25 attendees. The first 25 people to RSVP will receive the login information. Please check your Spam folder if you do not receive an email within 24 hours of signing up.
We hope to have these meetings on a weekly basis to accommodate our entire community. We are also working on securing dates for guest speakers from our medical council. Once those dates are finalized, we will announce them in future emails.
Here are the details for the online support group meeting that will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30.
First, make sure your computer, tablet, or phone is compatible with Zoom.
Also, please make sure you mute yourself when you are not speaking. The presenter is able to mute and unmute attendees, but it is easier if we all work together to ensure there is no background noise. Along those same lines, we recommend using headphones if possible. It helps eliminate feedback and makes it easier for attendees to hear more clearly.
Zoom allows for video and audio options. You are welcome to join via your computer and webcam device, tablet, or you can simply call in via phone. There is no requirement to turn on your camera if you do not want to.
We will start on time to respect everyone’s schedule. Thank you to Support Group Leader Kristen Hewitt for setting up this meeting!
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns before or during the meeting, please contact Jeremy Bennett at email@example.com and he will assist you.
