Looking Back on #GivingTuesdayNow
On May 5th, 2020, #GivingTuesdayNow —a new global day of giving and unity— took place as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
SRNA was incredibly grateful for this opportunity that was given to nonprofits, as we are dependent on our community for financial support. #GivingTuesdayNow occurs in addition to the regularly scheduled Dec 1st, 2020 #GivingTuesday.
On May 5th, SRNA’s President, Sandy Siegel, made a $10,000 donation to the Siegel Rare Neuroimmune Association as a matching gift for #GivingTuesdayNow, and thanks to our generous supporters, we raised over $10,500 in just one day. With the matching donation, the total came up to over $20,500, which allows us to continue to provide hope and help to those affected by rare neuroimmune disorders and support our education and research initiatives.
We are always so thankful to our generous supporters, especially as we continue through this new, unknown, and sometimes scary journey of what many now call the “new normal”. It is because of your kindness that our community is able to receive the support we need at this time.
